Born Emmanuel Kwaku Boahene better known by his stage name as AJ Versatyle, is a fast rising Ghanaian singer, songwriter and Afro-Dancehall Reggae artist. He has a diverse musical style mix of drill, hip hop, Highlife, reggae dancehall and rap music.

AJ Versatyle’s love for music goes as far back as 10 years ago but he decided to pursue his music aspirations in 2012. He quickly became a household name in Teshie where he grew up and gained respect and recognition amongst his peers which led to a collaboration with one of Ghana’s top notch artist Skrewfaze in which he calls him his Godfather. He later had other underground collaborations with artists like Ga Boi, Rolly Panda, Titan and an international collaboration with ace rapper Ganyobinovic Many ask why the name AJ Versatyle and why is it spelt with “ty” instead of “ti”? AJ stands for Alpha Jah which simply means the Beginning God and Versatyle depicts how multi-faceted or protean I am, my music cut across all genres been in Dancehall, Reggae, Afrobeat, Hi-life among others. Cos I am the Monster Style and the monster hit maker. I see myself as the largest artist to ever emanate from the continent of Africa.
AJ Versatyle, a proud Ghanaian who has dedicated a lot of work into mastering his craft. Learning each and everyday because he believes that you stop growing once you stop learning. This theory coupled with his humble beginnings spurs him on. He’s already glowing in the dark and that is what prodigies do.
In 2018, AJ Versatyle was nominated for an award for Discovery of the Year, Subsequently this year he was awarded the Music video of the year in the Ghana Golden Music Awards.
In 2019 he released his debut 6 track album tentatively dubbed ‘Strong faith’.
When asked in an interview why he choose strong faith for his EP, he said;
The only way to have a strong faith is to endure trials. I’ve really faced up and downs in my career, also life can be full of unexpected things either happy or sad, but no matter what happens, just always keep a loving heart, a wise mind and a strong faith.
His unique style and music dexterity has helped in unveiling his talent outside the shores of Ghana. Which is an opportunity for him to collaborate with other foreign artists and also help expand his fan base and network.
