AK Songstress Explains Why She Change From Dancehall to Afrobeat Music

Ghanaian singer AK Songstress Born Akosua Kwakye in an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay Show explained why she change from doing dancehall to another genre of music.

According to the singer, even though she was in the music industry doing dance hall, she believes her new choice of music genre gave her the major projection in the music scene.

However, she disclose that many Ghanaians do not accept her style of dancehall music when she first emerged into the music scene and it was under such influence she change her style of music and dropped her single “Jonathan” which famed her.

“The kind of dancehall our predecessors have introduced to the masses is not what dancehall is about but I stuck to doing pure dancehall which my people will not understand and I wasted so much time on it”, she said.

AK Songstress after releasing her single “Jonathan” which went viral globally, she continue to give back to back hits song which are enjoyed by many.
